Dates: from 23.06.16. Address: Palazzo Del Quirinale, Piazza Del Quirinal, 00187 Rome, Italy.

Starting from the 23rd June, Romans and tourists will be able to reserve official guided tours of the Quirinal Palace in the heart of the Eternal City. The Quirinal, originally created by Pope Gregory XIII to be the papal summer residence and completed in 1583, is now the official residence of the President of the Italian Republic; the head of state of Italy. As excavations in the gardens testify, the site dates back to Ancient Roman times, and had also been the site of a small villa owned by the Carafa family. Today the palace has over 1000 rooms, many of which contain a stunning array of antiques and art.

There are two guided tours available: the 'Art Tour' which comprises of the ground floor and main floor (Piano Nobile), and the 'Themed Tour' includes the Piano Nobile, the china collection, the gardens, the horse carriages and harnesses, as well as the ground floor. Please note that booking must be made at least 5 days in advance either online, via the call centre (06 39 96 75 57) or at the info-point. Tours are available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturday and Sundays and they depart every 20 minutes.
