Dates: 03.10.18 - 03.02.19. Address: Complesso del Vittoriano, Via di San Pietro in Carcere, 00186 Rome, Italy.

Born Andrew Warhola on the 6th August 1928 in Pittsburgh, USA, Andy Warhol was no doubt one of the most influential artists of modern times, and was a leading figure in the visual art movement known as Pop Art. To celebrate what would have been his ninetieth birthday, one of Rome’s largest and most important exhibition complexes, namely the Complesso del Vittoriano, has dedicated an exhibition to the myth of Mr Warhol, entitled 'Andy Warhol The True Essence'. He also left his iconic mark on the cinematic, music and fashion worlds. To shed light on one of the most interesting artists the world has ever seen, the Complesso del Vittoriano will exhibit more than 170 artworks from the beginning of October 2018 until the 3rd February 2019. An exhibition that will guide visitors through the unique world of Andy Warhol: the man who believed everyone will have their 15 minutes of fame. An exhibition that starts from the artistic origins of Pop Art: in 1962 when the genius of Pittsburgh began using screen printing and created the Campbell's Soup series; soup cans which Warhol took from the supermarket shelves, one of his most famous pieces of work, which continued with a series, as well as other series that depicted Elvis, Marilyn Monroe and Coca-Cola.
